How it works

Compare the same recorded dimension

Both inputs must describe band inside diameter. Do not compare an inside diameter with an outside diameter, circumference, body mass or tarsus measurement. The signed difference is recorded diameter minus reference diameter; a positive number means the recorded dimension is larger. No acceptable-fit or manufacturing-tolerance threshold is inferred.

Normalize units before subtraction

Each input has its own unit selector. International inches are converted using exactly 25.4 millimetres per inch. Relative difference is the signed difference divided by the reference diameter, multiplied by 100. The reference is the denominator, so swapping records changes the percentage. Display rounding does not supply measurement precision.
