How it works

Departure flow

Divide 3,600 seconds by the interval between successive departing chairs, then multiply by seats per chair. With evenly spaced chairs, the interval is full circuit time divided by the entire active fleet.

Observed operation

Apply average occupied-seat percentage and scheduled operating percentage separately. The result is an average flow estimate, not a certified rating, wait time or personal vertical mileage.

No. Many chairs circulate simultaneously. Divide full circuit time by the total active chair count to obtain average departure interval under steady, evenly spaced operation.

Use running-time headway and record stoppages with operating percentage. Do not include the same stoppage in both inputs.
