How it works

Choose real lines or a template

Typed mode uses one physical line per item and ignores template count. Template mode accepts 1–1,000 items, with {n} for the generated number and {i} for the one-based position. A final newline is not another item.

Validate the sequence and cleanup

Start and step must be explicit whole numbers. Zero start is valid; zero step is not. Plain text supports negative or descending numbers within the documented range. Trim, remove one marker and skip empty items only by opt-in.

Choose a truthful output format

Plain text preserves selected values. Literal GFM uses non-negative numbers, step 1 and nonblank items, encoding item markup as text. Preview the first 200 items in pages of 50; export all items, up to two million characters.

FAQ

Yes. Typed-lines mode numbers your actual items. Existing bullets or decimal markers remain unless you explicitly remove one leading marker. It is not a nested-list parser.

Zero is valid. Plain text also supports negative starts and non-unit or negative steps. Start and final numbers must stay between -999999999 and 999999999, and step is limited to ±1000000 excluding zero.

Item counts and sequence values must be whole numbers; blanks, fractions and exponent notation are not silently converted. Template count is 1–1,000 and does not affect typed mode.

GFM renderers continue ordered numbering rather than honoring arbitrary per-line sequences. Use plain text for descending or skipped numbers. Add a blank line before pasting into an existing paragraph and verify the destination.

Prefix and suffix surround the item text after its number, with spaces kept literally. Copy and download include the full current list. Source replacement has one-level undo; changing inputs or policies clears stale results. Nothing is automatically saved to a Project.
