The vinegar fraction is vinegar parts divided by the sum of vinegar and water parts. Multiply each fraction by the combined liquid amount.
V = T × v/(v+w); W = T × w/(v+w)Optional nominal acidity
The optional label input uses grams acetic acid per 100 mL. Multiplying it by the vinegar volume fraction estimates the two-liquid acidity when volumes are additive and water contributes no acid. It does not predict food pH.

Use the complete tested recipe’s ingredient proportions and process. A standalone vinegar-to-water ratio supplies neither a canning schedule nor a storage period.

Enter 1:1, 1,000 mL total and a 5% label.
→ 500 mL vinegar, 500 mL water; nominal acidity 2.5%, not pH.
Enter 3:4 and 700 mL total.
→ 300 mL vinegar and 400 mL water. This arithmetic does not authorize changing a recipe batch.
