Placeholder Text Generator

Generate predictable placeholder paragraphs with four styles, exact sentence counts and an offset. Preview and export plain text or HTML fragments.

Choose your path

Built around the job you need to finish

Generate deterministic style-specific placeholder paragraphs with exact paragraph/sentence counts and plain-text or escaped HTML fragments.

Layout designer

Compare cards using predictable placeholder density.

Set paragraphs and sentences, choose a style and inspect the paragraph preview.

Requested counts are exact and repetition is disclosed.

Frontend developer

Insert safe paragraph fragments into a mockup.

Choose HTML export, inspect escaped source and request the fragment file.

Export is clearly a fragment, not an executable preview or complete document.

Mobile content reviewer

Try several lengths while retaining a previous useful draft.

Change counts, recover from fractional input, restore the previous run and page through longer output.

Current settings match current output and previous work can be recovered.

Authoritative checks for this tool

Outputs and checklists are planning aids. Review the linked current authorities and the records, terms, instructions, and requirements that apply to your exact situation before a consequential decision.

How it works

Built-in sentence cycle

Each style uses a small fixed pool of sentences. Paragraphs take the requested number of sentences in sequence; offset changes the starting position. Identical options produce identical text.

Controlled density

Generate 1–100 paragraphs with 1–20 sentences each. Counts are strict integers. Word statistics use whitespace-separated tokens rather than linguistic word segmentation.

Explicit output format

Plain text uses blank lines between paragraphs. HTML output escapes text and wraps it in p elements; preview remains inert text and export is a fragment, not a complete page.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Assuming Regenerate means new random text

Generation is deterministic. Change the offset or other settings to produce a different cycle.

Approving a layout using samples alone

Real content may differ in language, word lengths and meaning. Replace placeholders before final review.

FAQ

No. It cycles through built-in sentence pools deterministically. Repeating the same settings produces the same result.

Change style, sentence count or starting sentence offset. The small pool repeats intentionally; offset is not a random seed.

Yes: 1–100 paragraphs and 1–20 sentences per paragraph. Fractions, empty values and out-of-range values are refused.

Escaped paragraph fragments using p elements, separated by LF. It is not a full HTML document, and the tool never executes generated HTML in its preview.

No. It is layout-test material, not verified claims or translations. Test representative final content for real wrapping and accessibility, and export anything you need before leaving.
