How it works

Entered Immersed-Envelope Model

Waterline length × waterline beam × mean draft forms a bounding volume; multiplying by the externally sourced block coefficient estimates immersed volume for that entered condition.

Density and Ton Definitions

Immersed volume is multiplied by entered water density. Short tons use 2,000 lb and long tons use 2,240 lb; NAVSEA distinguishes about 64 lb/ft³ seawater and 62.4 lb/ft³ fresh water.

Documented Displacement Comparison

The coarse geometry result is compared with entered builder, hydrostatic, survey or measured evidence for the same load/draft condition. It is not a stability or loading analysis.
