How it works

Basic Bottle Count

Divide total liquid volume by individual bottle capacity. 19L keg ÷ 0.75L = 25.3 bottles — plan 25 bottles.

Bottles = Batch volume ÷ Bottle size

Loss Allowance

Account for sediment, transfer loss, and breakage. Wine: 2–5% loss. Homebrew: 5% for trub and spillage.

Adjusted = Calculated bottles × 0.95–0.98

Mixed Bottle Sizes

Split batch across sizes: 18 standard 750ml + 6 half-bottles (375ml) = 15.75L from 16L batch.

Total volume = Σ(Bottles × Size) for each format

5 gal ≈ 18.9L ÷ 0.75L = 25 bottles standard wine bottles. Order 26 with corks for loss margin.

50L at 750ml = 66 bottles. At 700ml (EU standard) = 71 bottles. Verify label compliance for market.
