Carpet Area Estimator

Measure up to eight non-overlapping rectangles and exclusions. Compare independently reviewed supplier billable area and carpet-only price without a generic waste percentage.

Use this result well

Inputs that matter
Measured rectangles, exclusions and optional independently reviewed supplier area/quote
Output to expect
Measure non-overlapping floor rectangles and compare independently reviewed supplier billable area without inferring a carpet order.
How it works
Sum net floor areas; compare and price only the separately entered supplier quantity
  • No universal waste, pattern allowance, cut reuse or installation readiness is inferred.
  • Keep exact source revisions, original measurement units, quote basis and independent Project records.

Choose your path

Built around the job you need to finish

Measure non-overlapping floor rectangles and compare independently reviewed supplier billable area without inferring a carpet order.

Homeowner measuring a bedroom and closet

Keep excluded floor area and roll purchase separate.

Name measured rectangles, enter their dimensions and exclusions, inspect net area in three units.

Gets a traceable measured scope, not an unsupported order.

Shopper comparing a supplier takeoff

Price the actual independently reviewed billable area.

Enter supplier source, billable area, quote unit and optional price.

Sees signed area difference without treating it as approved waste or coverage.

Retain original units and revisions.

Change display units, edit a measurement, re-review supplier quantity, download and explicitly save.

Keeps source-owned records without replacing another material takeoff.

How it works

Measured net area

Sum width × length minus exclusions for active, non-overlapping rectangles. An excluded opening does not guarantee roll material can be saved.

Independent supplier area

Compare a separately reviewed billable quantity with measured net area. The signed difference is not an approved loss factor or coverage guarantee.

Quoted units

Price only the entered supplier area using the independent quote unit. Display conversion preserves original inputs; blank price means unknown.

Example Scenarios

Measure separate rectangles with explicit exclusions and inspect ft², yd² and m².

Review the supplier billable area and quote unit without equating area difference with approved cutting waste.

Switch display units, edit a measurement, re-review the supplier quantity, download and explicitly save.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Using a universal percentage to turn area into an order

Use actual measured scope and a product-specific reviewed seam, pile and cutting plan.

Treating saved arithmetic as installation approval

Confirm site conditions, product instructions, supplier terms and installer acceptance separately.

FAQ

No. Roll width, seams, pile, trimming and pattern affect actual full-width cuts. A supplier order needs an independently reviewed plan.

Yes. Display changes preserve original units; editing a measurement uses the displayed unit. Results show three area units.

It may cover partial scope or use existing stock. A signed difference is shown for reconciliation, not coverage approval.

Only independently entered billable carpet area at the quoted unit and currency. It excludes cushion, labor, tax and delivery.

Download complete JSON, copy the summary, print the current view or explicitly save source-owned Project fields. Saving does not complete an installation gate.
