How it works

Transparent starting quantities

Daily-change clothing uses covered days plus spare changes. Covered days is the smaller of trip length and the longest clean-laundry interval; zero interval means no laundry. Bottoms assume two wears plus spares. Include worn-in-transit clothing and edit for actual needs. These are planning assumptions, not researched optimal quantities.

Daily changes = covered days + spares; bottoms = ceil(covered days / 2) + spares

Review the complete itinerary

Climate and activity add editable reminders without multiplying all quantities. Outdoor preparation needs a separate route- and activity-specific equipment review; the generated reminder is not a complete outdoor list.

Keep an explicit packing record

A checked row means its full quantity is packed. Editing its name, unit or quantity clears that checkmark. Save retains one list in this browser; restore replaces the current working list. Markdown includes settings, items and progress. Regenerating replaces working items and checkmarks but does not overwrite the saved list.

Example Scenarios

One traveler, moderate climate, everyday sightseeing and one spare change.

Trip days: 7Clean-laundry interval: 4Spare changes: 1

Tops, underwear and socks each start at 5; bottoms start at 3. Edit the other starter rows before packing.

A short trip with no spare changes and no washing planned.

Trip days: 3Clean-laundry interval: 0Spare changes: 0

Tops, underwear and socks each start at 3; bottoms start at 2. A checked row covers its whole listed quantity.

FAQ

The time until clean, dry clothing is available determines how many changes must last between batches. Enter the longest gap, including drying time. Use zero when no laundry is planned; uncertain access should not be treated as guaranteed.

The starter covers one traveler. Add traveler names to custom rows or download a separate list for each person. Shared gear needs explicit ownership; the tool does not automatically distribute it.

It only records your checklist selections. Check forecast, itinerary, documents, personal needs, airline baggage rules and any specialized activity requirements separately.

Nothing is saved automatically. Save checklist replaces one browser-local record with current settings, items and checkmarks. Clearing browser data removes it. Markdown provides a portable copy; it cannot be imported back automatically.

Use 1–366 whole trip days, a 0–366 day clean-laundry interval and 0–10 spare changes. A list supports up to 100 rows, each with quantity 1–999. The tool does not calculate weight, bag capacity or baggage eligibility.
