How it works

Count full bills when paid

Both options start a full billing period in month 1. Service bills occur every 1, 3, 6 or 12 months in advance. A full prepaid bill counts even when its service coverage extends beyond the comparison horizon.

Bills = ceil(comparison months ÷ billing period months)

Include entered cost components

The first specified number of bills use the introductory price. Later bills use the regular price. Add fixed fees every month, device payments for the entered remaining months and upfront costs in month 1. Service prices cover the complete group.

Cash paid = service bills + monthly fees + device payments + upfront costs

Keep cash averages distinct

Divide the complete cash total by the comparison months and the shared people or seats count for display averages. Totals and schedules use integer cents. Averages are rounded to two decimals and do not change the cash timing.

Example Scenarios

Illustrative quotes of 15 monthly and 120 annually produce cash totals of 90 and 120 over six months. Over twelve months the totals are 180 and 120.

Enter the whole-group introductory service price and number of introductory bills, the later service price, fixed fees, remaining device payments and documented switching costs.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Multiplying a group price by the line count again

Enter group totals. The count only divides the reported average.

Using an annual monthly equivalent as a monthly bill

Select annual billing and enter the full annual amount.

Counting included taxes twice

Enter fees separately only when excluded from the entered service and device prices.

FAQ

This model starts both options at a full billing boundary in month 1. It does not calculate exact dates, remaining prepaid credits, proration or refunds. Use provider records for those adjustments.

Enter the complete household or group amount for every price and fee. The shared count only divides the result for a per-person, line or seat average.
