How it works

Daily and period peak-sun hours

Convert documented solar irradiation into equivalent peak-sun hours on its actual surface plane. Keep the represented day count and horizontal or array-plane basis explicit.

PSH/day = daily kWh/m² ÷ 1 kW/m²; period irradiation = daily average × days.

Solar energy from irradiance intervals

Integrate nonoverlapping interval-average irradiance on one surface plane. Include zero-irradiance periods when describing a complete day; incomplete samples represent only their own duration.

Irradiation kWh/m² = Σ average W/m² × hours / 1000; reference PSH has the same numeric value.
