Workflow

  1. Record the roof, load and project constraints

    Collect electricity use by billing period, planned load changes, roof dimensions, orientation, obstructions and roof condition. Obtain the actual structural, access, setback and permitting requirements from the project team. Keep usable array area separate from gross roof area and identify work needed before a PV installation.

  2. Review the electrical design and approvals

    Have the design team verify cold/hot module voltage, independent MPPT limits, string currents, approved equipment and the full DC cable path. Resolve service, protection, disconnect, fire-access and utility interconnection requirements through the applicable process before installation or connection.

  3. Value the tariff and complete cash flows

    Use actual self-consumption, export compensation, credit usability and additional charges to calculate the bill benefit. Enter verified incentives only in the year received and add installation scope, roof work, maintenance and replacements to the cash-flow model. Compare the same ownership period across proposals.
