How it works

Copy the convention stated by the source. The word lap is not treated as having one universal meaning, so the selected convention and its source description remain visible with the result.

Count distance = pool length for a one-way length, or 2 × pool length for a down-and-back pair

A target that does not end at a wall is reported as complete one-way lengths plus the exact distance into the next length. The worksheet does not round the target upward or claim that the partial segment was completed.

Complete lengths = floor(target ÷ pool length); partial distance = target − complete lengths × pool length

Reconcile an independent count

Compare only counts prepared from the identical recorded unit, pool length, target distance and convention. A zero difference confirms arithmetic agreement, not pool certification, event validity, completed distance, training suitability or safety.
