Bring the exact boots and skis to a qualified technician. Confirm model compatibility, mounting, adjustment and function using the binding manufacturer’s instructions. Do not infer a release setting from body weight or a unit converter.
Check the skin length, tip and tail attachment, and sidecut fit. Follow your skin manufacturer’s cutting method. POMOCA’s guide specifies leaving both ski edges visible when trimming its skins.
Make an itemized list of rescue equipment, layers, navigation, repair supplies and shared items. Check function and ownership before comparing weight. Convert an individual item’s mass only when its specification uses unfamiliar units.
Practise the full uphill-to-downhill sequence in a suitable setting with supervision as needed. Check that you can use the equipment with gloves. After use, dry and store the skins as their manufacturer specifies.
