Freeze one responsible pattern record

ASTM D6193 and ISO 4916 classify many stitch and seam constructions; they do not establish one universal allowance. Record the exact pattern piece, size, view, revision, construction, material state and responsible reviewer before entering dimensions.

Map every straight edge independently

Enter left, right, top and bottom offsets exactly as the responsible record defines them. Zero is valid. The arithmetic never assumes that opposite edges are equal or that a named garment or quilting convention applies.

Cut width = stitch-line width + left offset + right offset; cut length = stitch-line length + top offset + bottom offset
