Calculate mass per wing area and its weight-force equivalent. Select the unit system and identify flat or projected area; the two areas cannot be compared interchangeably.

Mass loading = mass / area; force loading = mass loading × 9.80665 m/s². Exact unit definitions: 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg; 1 ft² = 0.09290304 m².

Complete flying-mass ledger

Add every carried item and compare the exact total with a documented wing mass range. An optional reserve comparison is available only when its stated limit uses the same complete flying-mass basis. Equipment fit and compatibility require separate checks.

Total mass = sum of listed masses; lower/upper headroom = total − lower / upper − total. Comparisons retain all six entered decimal places.
