Follow the recipe’s salt measure exactly. If it specifies a mass percentage, select the matching water, food or combined base in the salt calculator. A recipe written in cups or tablespoons needs its stated salt product and measuring method, rather than a guessed gram conversion.
Use the recipe’s container, weight and covering instructions to keep the produce below brine. Check the actual temperature with a thermometer and record observations on the recipe’s schedule. Convert units if your thermometer and recipe use different scales.
Use the selected recipe’s completion and spoilage guidance. Record the date and storage instructions on the container. Refrigeration and canning are different paths; canning needs the full recipe-specific heat process and altitude adjustment.
Save the recipe link, ingredient measures, temperature observations and storage dates.
Calculate salt only when the chosen recipe provides a mass percentage and defines its denominator.
Convert a measured temperature or the recipe’s temperature range between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
