How it works

Cost stack

The calculator adds material, electricity, machine time, hands-on labor, and consumables. Your contingency percentage is then applied as an explicit planning allowance.

Slicer-friendly inputs

Use grams and print hours from your slicer. Define machine rate consistently for your own depreciation, maintenance, occupancy, or other included costs, and avoid counting the same item twice.

Markup and margin are different

Markup adds a percentage of production cost. Target margin treats production cost as a percentage of the final price. A 45% markup therefore produces a different amount than a 45% target margin.
