How it works

Receptacle layout by eligible span

Create a centered minimum-count geometric layout on each supplied continuous eligible span. Distances follow the wall line and each span has two endpoints. Specify actual excluded openings as breaks instead of subtracting an assumed door width from total perimeter. Check furniture, access, mounting and placement restrictions on the real plan.

For each span, n = ceil(length / (2 × reach)); positions = length × (2j + 1) / (2n), j = 0…n−1.

Check actual receptacle coverage

Check a measured or proposed set of receptacle coordinates on each eligible span against the chosen horizontal reach. Overlapping coverage is merged before uncovered lengths are counted. No coverage passes through a break between separate spans.

Each position x covers [max(0, x−reach), min(length, x+reach)]; merge intervals, then report all remaining gaps.
