Convert documented audio kbps to decimal Mbps, add it to the documented video Mbps, multiply by duration seconds and divide by eight for decimal payload MB, then apply only the documented overhead percentage and compare the independent size; do not recommend codec, bitrate, encoder, quality, rate control, platform preset, upload bandwidth or storage capacity

Convert Decimal Bitrate to Payload Size

Mbps, kbps, MB and GB use decimal SI prefixes. Convert minutes to seconds and bits to bytes explicitly. Include all intended audio streams in the reviewed audio-bitrate record; no generic audio default is added.

Payload MB = (video Mbps + audio kbps ÷ 1,000) × duration seconds ÷ 8

Apply Documented Overhead and Compare

Container/index/metadata overhead varies with implementation and stream structure. Enter a reviewed or measured percentage, then treat the signed difference as an audit prompt—not proof of quality, platform acceptance or exact multiplex size.

This record follows SI prefixes: 1 Mbps is 1,000,000 bits per second and 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes. Binary MiB/GiB and storage-vendor or operating-system displays must be converted separately.

Not necessarily. Average, target, maximum and instantaneous bitrates differ, and variable rate control, headers, indexes, metadata, padding, subtitles and implementation affect on-disk size. Compare a measured file when accuracy matters.
