Wallpaper Calculator

Plan separate walls, full-width drops and registered physical-bolt cuts using exact dimensions, trim and pattern match.

Use this result well

Inputs that matter
Up to eight separately measured walls, exact physical/usable bolt dimensions, verified datum and leader, total trim, match basis and full-drop omission positions
Output to expect
Per-wall drops and complete source-cut records with physical bolts, alignment, leaders, tails, original units and optional scoped quote
How it works
Round each wall independently; preserve original half-drop positions and align actual source starts, without repeat-rounding the unused tail or claiming optimized nesting
  • Verify exact product width, length, usable datum on EVERY bolt, repeat/match, lot and current hanging instructions.
  • Reconcile corners, partial openings, defects, substrate and installer review; no automatic offcut, spare or installation approval is inferred.

Choose your path

Built around the job you need to finish

Measure separate walls and inspect every registered source cut without inferred opening/corner credit.

DIYer measuring separate walls

Avoid combined-width rounding across corners.

Name each wall, enter its width/height and inspect numbered strips.

Can reconcile every wall without corner-stock credit.

Decorator reviewing an opening

Keep partial-opening material and original match phases.

Enter only verified full-height omitted positions and inspect remaining source cuts.

Can recover invalid omissions without a stale or renumbered plan.

Installer checking exact products

Trace trim, datum, repeat and bolt tail.

Review each cut against current product/lot instructions before field approval.

Keeps quantities separate from substrate or installation acceptance.

How it works

Each wall rounds independently

Start a fresh horizontal strip at each wall. Do not combine widths across corners. Only explicitly reviewed full-height drop positions are omitted; partial doors/windows receive no automatic area deduction.

Wall drops = ceil(measured wall width / usable installed strip width)

Registered source cuts

Straight starts share a phase; half-drop positions alternate zero and half a repeat. Each bolt starts at a verified datum after the entered leader. Other patterns use independently reviewed final cuts without phase certification.

Final cut = longest wall height + entered total trim; next start follows the selected pattern phase

Complete material record

Inspect all cuts in wall/drop order, up to 200 gross positions across eight walls. Last-cut fit uses its real end, not another repeat-rounded tail. No offcut reuse, spare bolt or minimum-order optimization is inferred.

Purchased length = cuts + alignment gaps + leaders + unassigned tails

Example Scenarios

Two 4-foot walls with 21-inch usable width need three positions each, even though a combined 8-foot run would round to five.

Review the exact omitted position on the wall diagram. Other positions keep their original half-drop phases; a partial window does not remove a full-height cut.

Compare measured height and trim, physical bolt dimensions, datum, repeat, lot and source cut ends before cutting or purchasing.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Subtracting all opening area or carrying a narrow last strip around the corner

Review each wall and omit only verified entire full-height positions; no corner or offcut credit is inferred.

Treating the schedule as a universal minimum order

The fixed wall/drop order is reproducible, not optimized nesting. Confirm product instructions, defects, usable datum, lot and separate reserves.

FAQ

Enter actual physical bolt width/length and separately reviewed usable installed width. Packaging names do not establish continuous dimensions.

Straight starts align to one phase; half-drop starts alternate zero and half the vertical repeat. Every bolt must have the entered verified phase-zero usable origin.

Only enter positions where the reviewed layout removes a whole full-height drop. Partial openings still consume material; the tool does not infer their geometry.

Use an independently reviewed final cut only when this bounded rectangular-strip model applies. Special panels, reverse hanging, other offsets and product-specific layouts need separate review.

Download complete JSON with original values/units and every source cut, copy the record or request printing. Project Save is explicit and does not mark any room gate complete.

About Wallpaper Calculator

Measure each rectangular wall separately, retain partial-opening material and inspect every numbered source cut. Free, straight and half-drop modes use an explicitly verified starting datum on each physical bolt. The sequential schedule is not a minimum-roll optimization or installation approval.
